Welcome to Barossa 1887

Meet Strawberry and Beef Cheeks, our irresistibly friendly miniature Highland cows and the heart of our property. With their shaggy coats, gentle nature, and curious personalities, they love meeting visitors and are always up for a pat (and maybe a snack!). Whether they’re grazing peacefully or wandering over to say hello, Strawberry and Beef Cheeks bring a special kind of charm that makes every visit just a little more memorable.
Where it all started

Our story began with a simple dream—finding a place where we could slow down, connect with the land, and create something meaningful for our family. When we arrived in Rowland Flat, we knew we’d found it. Surrounded by vineyards and rolling countryside, we embraced the opportunity to build not just a home, but a lifestyle grounded in nature, hard work, and togetherness.
What started as a vineyard quickly became a family haven, filled with laughter, long days outdoors, and a growing love for the animals that now call it home. Among them are Strawberry and Beef Cheeks, our miniature Highland cows, along with our three adorable dogs—Trevor, Ruby and Daisy—who are always nearby, ready to greet visitors with wagging tails.
Wanting to share this special place with others, we opened our gates to visitors—inviting you to experience a slice of our everyday life. From peaceful vineyard views to hands-on cow patting experiences, everything we offer is a reflection of what we love most about living here. It’s more than just a visit—it’s a chance to slow down, connect, and feel at home.
